Find your flow at Fancourt

Friday 21 June marks the official International Day of Yoga, and Fancourt Estate is just the place to start your day with a “sun salute” or dabble in a “downward dog”.

“Yoga has become a fond favourite for guests to book at the Leisure Centre, and we’ve taken care to include it in our current recreation programme for the holidays,” says Wouter Cloete,” Fancourt’s Sports & Leisure Manager.

The current programme at Fancourt runs until 8 July and includes a wide range of activities to help nourish all bodies, minds and souls of stressed out urbanites. “If you’re not one to for taking to the mat to practice your asanas, there’s something for all interests and fitness levels, from Zumba, boxercise and badminton, to movie nights and cupcake making,” says Cloete.

If you don’t make it through to Fancourt in the coming weeks, the Leisure Centre features two swimming pools, separate saunas and a state-of-the-art workout area with personal trainers available on request. Bikes and fishing rods are also available, as are tennis rackets and balls for the two courts on the estate.

“Fancourt has many opportunities to do something meaningful for yourself, or simply catch up on some much-needed peace and quiet, year-round,” adds Cloete. “Step out into nature along our dedicated trails, or indulge in a treatment at the spa, where total body detoxification is guaranteed.”

The estate also offers activity-filled adventures for families to reconnect with each other while creating lasting memories. “Bring the kids, bring grandma and grandpa too,” says Cloete. “At Fancourt, the kids can become more involved in the day to day itinerary and have more of a say in what they want to do. On some days, families can also easily break off into smaller groups according to what they want to do, or eat, and re-group later.”

There is also currently a dedicated Kidz Club holiday programme with a whole host of special themed days, run by the dedicated Fancourt staff. “Whilst the kids are busy becoming mini-experts in marine animals, bugs, and birds, or graduating as astronauts in outer space, Mom can nip off for a quick yoga session, while Dad hits the fairways,” says Cloete.
