Fancourt is South Africa’s premier golf resort, with all three of our golf courses ranked in the Top 10 in South Africa (2012 Golf Digest rankings) as Best Conditioned Courses, The Links ranked No. 2, Montagu ranked 6, and Outeniqua ranked 9.
Since opening in the early 90's with just 27 Gary Player-designed holes, Fancourt’s Outeniqua and Montagu golf courses have matured and developed into two of the finest 18-hole parkland layouts in the country. A round on either is a special experience, sculpted and finished as they are, with rare attention to detail and designed with the coastal George winds in mind.
In addition, Fancourt has an exceptional golf academy that houses a TaylorMade Fitment Centre and state-of-the-art teaching facilities, backed up by the expertise of PGA professionals. To keep golfers looking the part, there are two well-stocked pro shops, offering a wide variety of clothing, accessories and hardware.
Montagu, named after the Montagu pass was originally designed by Gary Player and is a much celebrated parkland course and has been ranked as the number-one golf course in South Africa in the past and is currently ranked as No. 6 Best Conditioned (Golf Digest Rankings 2012).
The exquisitely conditioned Montagu is at the heart of Fancourt, with its glorious parkland layout, covering large tracts of varying terrain on rolling land. It’s beauty is enhanced by mature trees, flower beds, shrubs and water hazards that provide a colourful contrast to the landscape.
The warm-up area, featuring a full-length range and a chipping and bunker practice area, is available to all golfers before play.
Golf carts are available for hire, weather permitting.
